  Raised attending an Assembly of God church in Ohio for 40 years prior to moving to this area in 2012, I sought to find a good church to make my own. I even contacted the Illinois District of the A/G to find a good church. I attended this church from August 2012 to February 2013. During that time, maybe 1 person addressed me by name. I found the people aloof and guarded. The worship is ok (nothing special). The preaching is not memorable except for yelling and a lot of "we need to be" or "we should be". I didn't find the preaching to be compelling. I reached out to express interest in volunteering but I was given a brush off response by the pastor. I contributed to the offering plate using personal checks. I had signed the registry with my current address and phone number.
  
  I ceased attending in March 2013. At no time did anyone from that church contact me to ask where I was or to check in on me. (I had not signed up for membership but I had signed the attendance roster when I attended.) Several months later, I received a letter in my mail box from Calvary Assembly in Crystal Lake, IL asking for a donation to the Pastor Terry appreciation gift. I was livid. I was not upset that the church was soliciting funds for an appreciation gift. I was livid because I had ceased attending the church months prior and no one seemed to notice that I was gone. No one seemed to care that I had reached out to them and no one reached out to me until they came calling, rattling their tin cup. It sent the message to me that my presence wasn't appreciated, required, or needed, however, my money was. This experience turned me off to attending church physically in this area.

  Wonderful church with wonderful people! God's presence is moving powerfully in this church. The people are friendly and on fire for God. It's a wonderful place to worship with the whole family. The leadership truly has a heart for the community. Exciting things happening here!
